Biography

Rob DeMetz manages the firm’s Fayetteville, Georgia office. He has lived in Georgia in either Fayette County or Coweta County for most of his life. A product of Fayette County schools, Rob received his undergraduate education at Mississippi State University (an institution attended by many of his family members) and his Juris Doctorate degree from Georgia State University College of Law.

Since his admission to the bar in 1995, Rob has been a trial lawyer. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury cases. For over 15 years he handled cases for several major national insurance companies. In 2011 he made the switch to the plaintiff’s side and now exclusively represents people injured or killed through the fault of others. The years of experience, skills, and knowledge he developed practicing on the defense side provide him with unique insight into the strategies and tactics insurance companies use to attempt to defend against claims. This experience is an invaluable asset in his current practice as an advocate for injury victims. He has tried numerous jury trials throughout the State of Georgia and has successfully represented clients in the Court of Appeals of Georgia and the Supreme Court of Georgia. Additionally, he has litigated cases in Federal District Court in the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. He has also spoken at Continuing Legal Education programs for other lawyers on topics such as insurance coverage questions and medical reimbursement/lien issues in personal injury cases.

Rob has been honored with the AV Preeminent® rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which has been evaluating lawyers for over 130 years and is one of the most authoritative lawyer rating systems in the United States. According to Martindale-Hubbell, An AV Preeminent rating is “the highest peer rating standard. This is given to attorneys who are ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards by their peers.”

Rob is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum®. This is an organization of trial lawyers whose membership, according to the organization, is open only to lawyers “who have acted as principal counsel in at least one case in which their client received a verdict, award, or settlement in the amount of one million dollars or more.” Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members of this organization.
